HangryGal's Favorite Spots to Eat and Drink on the Grand Strand

I know I'm not the only one that plans their vacations around food and drink...
but if you aren't doing this
you're doing it wrong.

Picking your vacation location is easy, especially if it's here in the Myrtle Beach area.  Sun, sand and plenty of activities for every age group on every corner.  We are also chock full of restaurants and bars!  I'm here to tell you the best of the best (in my humble opinion).  Stay away from the chain restaurants and the tourist traps.  Tourist areas are so busy and the restaurants so flooded with people that they haven't been able to serve consistently good food during the high season.  It's true that a chain restaurant will serve you quality food but for the same price you can get something really special and different from what you'll find in your own hometown.

Here are my personal favorite spots up and down the Grand Strand (in no particular order):
Click on the restaurant name to be directed to their website

Perrones - Pawleys Island
Amazing space, crazy good food with a unique twist. Great happy hour deals on alcohol and tapas are to die for.  Be sure to try the 72 hour short rib - cooked sous vide.

ART Burger & Sushi -  Myrtle Beach
Casual spot on the beach that serves both burgers and fresh sushi along side some incredible cocktails.  Be sure to try the beers topped with liquid nitrogen - your last sip will be colder than your first!

Atlas Tap House - Myrtle Beach
Another casual spot serving an incredible list of craft beer.  Menu is small - bbq sandwiches and tacos - but the food is still delicious!

Breakfast and lunch spot that also serves alcohol with mimosa specials on the weekends.  Family friendly and a menu full of unique benedicts, omelets and waffles galore!  Be sure to try the red velvet waffles... no explanation needed.

Aspen Grille Happy Hour - Myrtle Beach
Fine dining spot for special occasion meals but hands down best happy hour in town.  In the bar area only, they are serving their small plates at half off.  Be sure to try the sliders and fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat.  Bar food at it's finest!

King Kong Sushi - Carolina Forest Location
Freshest and most unique and consistently good sushi in the area.  Also the best price - edamame, appetizer, soup/salad, 4 specialty rolls -- 49.00 (serves 2 people).  Be sure to check them out on Fridays for half price liquor!

Bisqit - Pawleys Island
Casual joint in the Hammock Shops serving unique burgers on biscuits (or buns) along food with a
southern flair.  Be sure to try their milkshakes and their appetizer full of pickled stuff.

One stop shop for family fun - bowling, corn hole, shuffleboard along with games on every table.  Lets not forget their amazing food and great beer list.  Must try the Cuban Quesadilla.

Sea Captain's House - Myrtle Beach
Gorgeous space right on the beach and a Myrtle Beach institution.  Fantastic breakfast, brunch and lunch (can't comment on dinner!).  Must try: She Crab Soup and the Avocado Sea Fare.

Delightful restaurant serving bistro food with a Southern flair.  Charming and intimate for a date night but also serving some incredibly special breakfast, brunch and lunch.  Must try the bloody mary bar at brunch  as well as their amazing pastry and cakes.
